La Mancomunidad de Massachusetts (en inglés, Commonwealth of Massachusetts) es un estado de los Estados Unidos. Se ubica al noreste del país, a unos cuantos kilómetros de la frontera con Canadá, en América del Norte. Limita : al N con los estados de Nuevo Hampshire y Vermont ,al E con el océano Atlántico, al S con los estados de Connecticut y Rhode Island ,y al O con el estado de Nueva York (estado). Etnias: 81.9% blancos, 6.8% hispanos, 5.4% negros, 3.8% asiáticos, 0.2% amerindios, 2.3% mestizos

► Estado del NE de E.U.A., en Nueva Inglaterra, junto al Atlántico, limítrofe con Nueva Hampshire y Vermont al N, Nueva York al O y Connecticut y Rhode Island al S; 21 456 km2 y 5 767 000 h. Clima templado. Extensos bosques; rica agricultura (tabaco, forrajes, patatas) y notable ganadería. Cap., Boston. La primera colonia fundada en Massachusetts fue la establecida en 1620 por los puritanos llegados a bordo del Mayflower. Se organizó como estado en 1776 y ratificó la Constitución de Filadelfia de 1787.
